I have been supported by a wonderful family and partner throughout my life hence the inspiration for this domain name.

I have served this last decade as a private practice therapist and before that in the non-profit world of community mental health clinics in areas of Chicago, Chapel Hill, and rural NC. I have worked closely with wonderful teams of Clinical Social workers, interns, substance abuse specialists and varied mental health professionals. Learn about on my therapy approach by going to my bio profile at psychologytoday.com

I graduated from Loyola University of Chicago in the early 80's My doctoral dissertation was on "The Origins of Meditation" https://ecommons.luc.edu/luc_diss/2065/ and my Masters thesis was on the meditative benefits of Tai Chi https://ecommons.luc.edu/luc_theses/3121 Records show hundreds of people have downloaded my dissertation, and I offer ice cream rewards to family, friends or anyone who actually tries to read it.. Hope to get feedback on it someday, but no takers yet.:-) Keeps me humble.

My various life roles have included among other things being a dishwasher, Tai Chi teacher, a summer job as a milkman, an EMT/paramedic in Gambier Ohio, Cleveland and San Francisco, volunteer fireman steel foundry worker (for one memorable day). I am also a humble member of the SRF community for over 3 decades. Last but not least, I am a big fan of the spiritual traditions of India and hope to travel there soon.

Trivia question. Guess the humble character from my favorite Christmas movie...
